Four Tips to Create aSuccessful Facebook Fundraiser

Facebook Fundraisers are a very effective fundraising tool for OMF supporters. They make it easy for your friends, family and other connections to donate in support of groundbreaking ME / CFS research. The simple steps below will help you make sure your fundraiser gets the most possible donations.

Invite your connections directly

Send a direct invitation to your friends and family to make a contribution to your fundraiser. Simply visit your fundraiser page and look for the invite feature.

Share your fundraiser multiple times

Use the “share” button to post reminders about your fundraiser. For example, you can share when there’s, “One week left to donate,” “Two days left to donate,” “Last day to donate!” and so on.

Make it personal

Upload a personal photo for your fundraiser cover image and be sure the written description explains why OMF’s work is important to you. Your connections are more likely to donate if they know why this cause matters to you as an individual.

Increase your fundraising goal as needed

It’s best to start with a fundraising goal that you think you have a realistic chance of reaching.

Regardless of where you begin, be sure to monitor your fundraising progress. Once you reach your initial goal, use the “Edit Fundraiser” button to set a higher target to provide more motivation to donate.
